Wofür ist der ADLER Garten-Balsam gedacht?
Der Garten-Balsam pflegt Holzstiele und geschmiedete Metallteile von Gartenwerkzeugen. Er hält Eschenstiele geschmeidig, verhindert Rissbildung durch Austrocknen und legt über den Werkzeugkopf einen Film aus Wachs und Öl, der vor Korrosion schützt. Besonders sinnvoll vor der Einlagerung in der Winterpause.
Woraus besteht der Garten-Balsam?
Der ADLER Garten-Balsam besteht aus Bienenwachs, Leinöl und einem Hauch Rosmarinöl – drei natürliche Zutaten, frei von synthetischen Zusätzen und aus Deutschland. Das Leinöl nährt das Holz, das Bienenwachs bildet die Schutzschicht, das Rosmarinöl gibt den Duft. Inhalt 100 ml in einer wiederverwendbaren Aluminiumdose.
Wie wende ich den Garten-Balsam an?
Reinige das Werkzeug nach der Gartenarbeit und kratze Erdreste ab, besonders bei Lehm. Trage den Balsam dann mit einem Tuch dünn auf Holz und Metall auf. Mehr ist nicht nötig. Bei naturbelassenen Stielen ohne Lackschutz ist die Behandlung wichtiger als bei lackierten, weil das Holz dort direkt der Witterung ausgesetzt ist.
Garten-Balsam oder Axt-Balsam – was ist der Unterschied?
Nimm den Garten-Balsam für Gartenwerkzeuge mit Eschenstiel und den Axt-Balsam für Äxte und Beile mit Hickorystiel. Der Garten-Balsam ist die Weiterentwicklung des Axt-Balsams und enthält Rosmarinöl statt Nelkenöl. In der Wirkung sind beide sehr ähnlich, sie unterscheiden sich vor allem im Duft und in der Ausrichtung.
Für welche Werkzeuge eignet sich der Garten-Balsam?
Für alle handgeschmiedeten Gartenwerkzeuge mit Holzgriff: Gartenhacken, Feldhacken, Grubber, Schaufeln, Pflanzkellen, Handrechen und die Heritage-Serie. Auch die Wiedehopfhacke profitiert davon. Da der unlegierte C45-Stahl rostet, sobald feuchte Erde daran haften bleibt, gehört der Kopf genauso behandelt wie der Stiel.
Wie oft sollte ich den Balsam auftragen?
Zwei- bis dreimal in der Saison reicht bei normalem Gebrauch. Entscheidend ist die Anwendung vor der Winterpause: Werkzeug, das geölt eingelagert wird, kommt im Frühjahr ohne Flugrost wieder heraus. Bei naturbelassenen Stielen gerne öfter, weil das Holz dort schneller austrocknet.
