The handle of your hatchet or axe is broken and the tool head needs a little freshening up? In the interests of sustainability, we will be happy to help you get your axe fit for the next adventure.

Procedure:

  1. Send us photos of the tool to shop@adler-werkzeug.de
  2. We will tell you whether we can repair the tool
  3. You book the service here in the store and send us your old tool
  4. We refurbish your tool and send it back to you as new

Once the tool has arrived at our factory in Waghäusel, it is checked by an experienced employee. First, we make the tool head shine again: It is sandblasted, then sharpened and polished by hand. Last but not least, the tool head is coated with rust protection, making it as good as new.

Next, we turn our attention to the wooden handle: we select the right handle and mount it professionally on the tool head. After a final quality check, we send your finished tool to your home as good as new.

IMPORTANT: We can only offer this service for Adler models. If you are not sure whether your old axe is from Adler, simply send us photos in advance to shop@adler-werkzeug.de.

A very professionnal approach

We had some technical issues to communicate initially with Adler, linked to my email service provider. Once this point was mastered, I had a very professionnal behaviour from the ADLER team, Thank you to the whole team.
I will order from them again with a great pleasure, & congratulations fro the service.

Hello Mr Hajek,

thank you very much for your message.
Unfortunately, we're having trouble sending e-mails to you and we get error messages from your service provider every time. I am very sorry for this. This was the reason why you had the feeling, that you couldn't reach us.

After consulting our production manager, I have been informed that the shipment has been prepared for your tool, but unfortunately the hatchet did not pass our quality control. The reason for this is we are unable to offer you a replacement handle to fit the hatchet head sent to you, as it is an older model and the handle size has changed in the meantime. This was not visible in the photo you have sent us beforehand.

As a gesture of goodwill, we offer to send you the following hatchet completely free of charge:

You original axe head was polished and sharpened just as ordered.

Please write us at shop@adler-werkzeug.de if are ok with this solution and we will send out the package asap.

Please excuse this inconvenience.

Your Adler-Team.

ADLER QUALITY

Enjoy your time in nature! Our axes & hatchets are designed for maximum functionality and ergonomic handling, so you do not have to worry about the right tool. The tool heads are forged exclusively from tested carbon steels (C60 or C45), extra sharp and coated with rust protection. We manufacture our tool handles from original US Hickory or European Ash. Both types of wood are explicitly required for forestry tools by the German Institute for Standardization. The handle of all axes & hatchets is coated with a special anti-slip lacquer. This ensures that your tool always lies securely in your hand, whether you are wearing gloves or not.

SINCE 1919

We love nature and we love working outside in the fresh air. With our tools we want to help you to discover your love of nature. Since the year 1919, we have been manufacturing highest quality tools in the city of Waghäusel, Germany. As one of the last tool manufacturers in Europe, we combine wood processing and forging under one roof. In doing so, we highly value sustainability: We exclusively use FSC-certified European ash wood or original US hickory and water-based paints. Our entire company is heated by wood chips that are a by-product of our own production.
